Speaker:

Bethany Klein, MOD

Senior Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Specialist Human Resources-Labor & Employee Relations

 Marathon Petroleum Corporation

Bethany Klein joined Marathon Petroleum Corporation in 2007, after graduating with a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Dayton. She has spent her 18+ year career in multiple organizations and roles within Marathon, including two ‘career pivots.’ Bethany started her career managing retail construction and pipeline engineering projects, then decided to pivot into the Health, Environment, Safety & Security (HES&S) space, where she then spent several years in roles of increasing responsibility leading a mix of compliance and employee engagement programs.

In 2021 Bethany pivoted career-wise again by going back to school to earn an Executive Master’s degree in Organization Development & Change from Bowling Green State University and moving into the Human Resources organization at Marathon. Now, as a Senior DE&I Specialist, Bethany has responsibility over enterprise-wide inclusion efforts and programming. In her current role she blends her process and program management skills with leading organizational change, facilitating team development, strategic planning, coaching and mentoring.

Bethany is married with two children and enjoys reading and spending time with friends.
