Why Industry Support Matters

Become a Partner

Why It Matters

About 47% of the U.S. workforce is female, but women make up only around 11% of the construction industry. That number is even smaller in the field roles like paving and operations.

The industry is facing a growing workforce shortage - and Women of Asphalt is here to change that by raising awareness of career opportunities, providing mentorship and education, and creating a strong talent pipeline

Thanks to our national partners, Women of Asphalt:

  • Membership remains free and accessible for women at every stage of their careers,

  • Deploy career-building resources and connections empower members to grow and lead,

  • Host programs and support local branches expand our reach and deepen our impact.

National Partnership support helps keep Women of Asphalt a dues-free association, ensuring that any woman interested in or currently working in the asphalt industry has the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow her career.
In addition to sustaining a dues-free membership model, national partners play a key role in keeping many of our programs free or low-cost, including:
  • Women of Asphalt Day
  • Leadership Summit
  • Technical Workshops (anticipating fall 2026)
  • Lead & Inspire Webinar Series
  • Expanding regional and state branches as we continue “painting the map pink”
  • Supporting current branches with national resources, toolkits, and social media templates
  • and much more!
Women of Asphalt is committed to strengthening the asphalt workforce by helping women enter the industry, build skills, and grow long-term careers. Our workforce initiatives include:

  • Paving Operations Training Course
In 2025, we hosted our first all-female training cohort, with 12 women receiving hands-on paving and field-based training.

  • Leadership Summit
A professional development experience focused on leadership training, career growth, and building the next generation of industry leaders.

  • Youth Outreach & Career Awareness
We introduce young women to asphalt career pathways through outreach such as the PACE Center for Girls (Florida), including STEM workshops and plant visits.

  • Girl Scouts Partnerships
Local WofA branches are teaming up with Girl Scout councils to showcase asphalt careers, host site tours, and support hands-on learning experiences.

  • Mentorship + Year-Round Learning
Programs like our Mentorship Program and Lead & Inspire Webinar Series help women gain support, build confidence, and continue growing at every career stage.

National partnership support helps fund our dues-free national membership, national programming, and the resources needed to support branches across the country.

Since 2025, we’ve significantly expanded our branch support - using national partnership funding to create branch toolkits, national resources, ready-to-use marketing materials, and templates that branches can use to grow their reach and impact locally. Partner dollars also help us expand into new regions by supporting branch start-up needs, including initial support resources and branch logos to help new branches launch strong.

Local branches are established as separate state entities, so any fundraising or sponsorships secured locally stay within that state and go directly back to supporting the branch’s programs, outreach, and activities. This structure ensures local support has local impact, while national partners help power the broader Women of Asphalt mission nationwide.

Yes, National Partnerships are an annual commitment that runs January through December of each year.
We accept new partners year-round, and benefits begin once your partnership payment is received.
Renewals open at the start of the year, and we’ll reach out with renewal details and an invoice.
To avoid any interruption in benefits, we recommend renewing and submitting payment by March 1st of each year.
