WofA Texas Annual Dinner: Celebrating Growth, Leadership & Community

Celebrating Growth, Leadership, & Community

The Women of Asphalt Texas Branch brought together more than 100 members, partners, and industry supporters on September 8, 2025, for its highly anticipated Annual Dinner, an evening filled with connection, reflection, and celebration of leadership across the Lone Star State.

Reflecting on an Incredible Year

2025 Branch Chairwoman Luiza Barros opened the evening by welcoming attendees, thanking branch partners and event sponsors, and highlighting the branch’s many accomplishments.

From the Fredericksburg networking event to the DFW Career Expo and TXAPA Road-eo, the Texas Branch has stayed busy connecting women across every corner of the state. Luiza also recognized mentors and mentees from the 2025 Mentorship Program, encouraged sign-ups for the 2026 cohort, and previewed upcoming initiatives, including a Christmas social and Suicide Prevention Awareness programming at TXAPA’s annual meeting, where WofA will host a licensed therapist at its booth to support mental health in the industry.

National Updates and Texas Pride

National Women of Asphalt's Executive Director, Brittyn Heisler, joined the celebration to share updates on WofA’s national growth, new branch resources, and the long-term vision for workforce development and industry impact. She also proudly spotlighted WofA Texas as the largest branch by membership, applauding its leadership team for setting the pace nationally and showing what strong local engagement can achieve.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As the evening continued, Luiza officially annouced she will be passing the torch to incoming 2026 Branch Chairwoman, Angie Hogan, recognizing her energy, leadership, and commitment to advancing women in the Texas asphalt community. Angie shared her goals and vision for the year ahead—centered on outreach, mentorship, and continued collaboration among women and allies across the state.

A Night of Connection and Celebration

The dinner closed with warm conversations, laughter, and a renewed sense of purpose as members looked ahead to another impactful year.

We’re so grateful to the Texas Branch leaders, partners, and volunteers who brought this incredible night to life. Your hard work and heart for this industry shine through in everything you do—and it’s that spirit that keeps Women of Asphalt growing stronger every year. 💛
