Member Monday  Spotlight: Sarah Sisson

Sarah Sisson’s asphalt career began in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Nearly a decade later, it has taken her across the country — creating opportunities to grow, solve problems, and build meaningful relationships along the way.

Sarah entered the industry in 2016 as a Sales & Marketing Coordinator with HMA Lab Supply, an InstroTek company. Within a few years, she worked her way into account management roles and discovered how many different career paths the asphalt industry could offer.

A Career Built on Connection

Today, Sarah serves as a Specialty Products Sales Representative with All States Materials Group, a valued Women of Asphalt National Partner. Although she now works remotely from California for a Northeast-based company, distance has not stopped Sarah from developing strong relationships with customers and colleagues across the industry.

“Building relationships, problem-solving, and supporting clients are number one!"

Her career has also given her the opportunity to travel extensively and relocate for roles in Virginia, North Carolina, and California — experiences that have introduced her to a wide range of cities, states, and cultures.

“Throughout my career, extensive travel has allowed me to experience a wide range of cities, states, and cultures—something I genuinely enjoy,” Sarah shared. Sarah’s role extends beyond sales. Her work connects directly to the materials, operations, and projects that keep communities moving.

All States Materials Group is a vertically integrated company specializing in liquid asphalt supply, materials production, and construction. The company also incorporates the Specialty Products additives Sarah represents into its own plant operations and construction projects.

That perspective allows Sarah to understand how the products she supports are applied in real-world operations—and how they help address the needs of customers and projects.

Partnership in Action

Sarah’s impact extends beyond her day-to-day role. She has also helped strengthen All States Materials Group’s involvement with Women of Asphalt and create deeper connections among women throughout its New England operations.

“I’ve had the opportunity to spearhead my company’s involvement with Women of Asphalt, allowing me to build meaningful connections with the women across our organization in New England.”

For Sarah, being part of Women of Asphalt has also supported her own personal and professional growth.

“It means gaining confidence and creating a deeper connection with like-minded industry individuals,” she said.

A Valued National Partner

As a valued Women of Asphalt National Partner, All States Materials Group is helping create opportunities for women across the industry to connect, grow, and become more engaged.

Sarah’s experience brings that partnership to life. By spearheading her company’s involvement with Women of Asphalt, she has helped turn organizational support into meaningful relationships among women across ASMG’s New England operations.

Her Advice: Stay Curious

As she reflects on nearly a decade in asphalt, Sarah encourages those considering the industry to remain curious, continue learning, and be willing to put themselves out there.

“Every day is a learning experience within the asphalt industry, so always ask questions!”

Sarah also emphasizes the importance of building a strong professional network and remaining open to new possibilities.

“Continue to network and put yourself out there,” she advised. “Many different opportunities will arise throughout your career.” Sarah’s journey proves that one opportunity can lead somewhere far greater than expected across new roles, new states, and an entire industry of meaningful connections.

Thank you, Sarah, for your commitment to supporting industry customers, connecting women across your organization, and representing the very best of our asphalt community. We’re also grateful to All States Materials Group for its valued National Partnership and investment in the women helping move our industry forward.
