From Estimator to VP: Leading from the Field

Member Monday Spotlight: Mandy Neese
We’re continuing our Member Monday series highlighting the incredible individuals who make up the Women of Asphalt community.
Every other week, we’re sharing member stories, career journeys, and what drives them.
Next up: Mandy Neese, Vice President at Atlanta Paving and Concrete Construction.
Meet Mandy
How did you get started in the asphalt industry?
Started at APAC as an Estimator in 2002 after graduating from Georgia Tech.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Being outside and not doing the same thing each day. I stay involved in field work because it keeps me grounded—our crews and the physical work are the most important part.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career in this industry?
Be patient and find a mentor. Find someone (or more than one) to learn from—experience is key.
What does being part of Women of Asphalt mean to you?
This is a male-dominated industry, but a welcoming one. Having other women to share experiences with and celebrate alongside is empowering. WofA brings together a unique group connected by asphalt.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about your job?
I drive an average of 1,000 miles a week and typically work from home one of those days!
Mandy’s leadership and connection to the field are a powerful reminder of the importance of staying grounded and continuing to learn. We’re proud to spotlight members like Mandy and promote the impact she’s making in our industry. 👏
